This
building was origanally founded as the
Hospital de la Encarnación del Hijo de Dios, in 1549,
by Don Juan Téllez Girón, IV Count of Ureña.
In 1612 it was occupied by the Jesuits, who lived there
for a few years, in 1626 the IV Duchess of Osuna, Dña.
Isabel de Sandoval and Padilla, founded on the site of the
ancient monastery that the hospital had to govern the religious
of the Royal Military Order of Mercy.
